WELCOME TO ROCHFORD HOUSE
Rochford House home-schooling co-operative is intended to be aimed at home educating parents who have chosen to educate their children in an alternative way to mainstream/private education.
Have you really enjoyed home schooling your child/ children during lockdown and like me, have seen them flourish and develop a real love of learning; free from the pressures of the classroom and free from the stresses of lessons that are at a pace that doesn’t suit their needs or personality?
We have had so much fun completing some of the class lessons provided by the school but at a pace we could enjoy and with a freedom to pursue interests that these topics threw up.
It’s been such an exciting adventure seeing how my children learn and how their interests are sparked. The adventure has been so much fun that we never wanted it to end when schools began to open again.
Would anyone be interested in continuing home schooling and joining Rochford House cooperative with me in this pursuit of learning together and meeting up socially. Maybe teaching our children in a small group using our own talents and interests and employing tutors for the group on a regular basis so that the children have a routine and form close friendships.
We are interested in following a curriculum but in such a way that our children are able to access it at their own pace and free to explore other areas of interest.
This group is intended to be for primary aged children.

We value childhood for its own sake; not simply as a preparation for adulthood or the teenage years but as a time for active learning, exploration and discovery.
We believe that childhood should be unhurried, un-pressured and free from fear.
